Italy captain Gianluigi Donnarumma has denied reports that players demanded qualification bonuses, insisting their only reward would have been playing at the World Cup.
The Azzurri missed the finals for a third straight time after a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The fallout saw federation president Gabriele Gravina, delegation chief Gianluigi Buffon, and coach Gennaro Gattuso all step down.
“We have to bounce back,” Donnarumma said. “Before thinking about the World Cup, we must focus on the European Championship and Nations League.”
