As Uganda’s sole representative in Pool C, their opening matches at the Al Ahly Sports Complex have been a baptism by fire—an introduction to faster play and taller blocks that define the continent’s elite.

Arriving with confidence from a dominant domestic campaign, the Ugandan champions quickly discovered the continental stage is a harsh proving ground.

The draw placed them against West and North African powerhouses, and the opening fixtures exposed the gulf in experience.

Nigeria Customs Service 3–1 KCCA

KCCA began brightly against Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), taking the first set 26–24 with aggressive serving and disciplined defence. But NCS, anchored by veteran composure, dismantled KCCA’s reception in the following sets, overturning the deficit into a 3–1 victory.

– Set 1: 26–24 (KCCA)
– Set 2: 25–20 (NCS)
– Set 3: 25–16 (NCS)
– Set 4: 25–19 (NCS)

Club Féminin de Carthage 3–0 KCCA

Day two brought perennial favourites Carthage of Tunisia. Their height and net discipline proved overwhelming. KCCA fought for every point but Carthage’s transition play was near flawless, sealing a straight-sets win.

– Set 1: 25–16 (Carthage)
– Set 2: 25–17 (Carthage)
– Set 3: 25–10 (Carthage)

Navigating Pool C

With two defeats, KCCA’s margin for error has vanished. To keep quarterfinal hopes alive, they must win remaining fixtures against Directorate of Criminal Investigations Volleyball Club (Kenya) and Les Aigles du Congo (DR Congo).

– Pool B: Kenya Pipeline Company 3–0 Gender Light (Burundi) — 25–8, 25–7, 25–9

– Pool D: Kalibi SC (Ghana) 3–0 Sococim (Senegal) — 25–18, 25–18, 25–10

Day Two Highlights

Nigeria Customs Service 3–0 Les Aigles du Congo (DR Congo) — 25–13, 25–13, 26–24
