The Uganda Rugby Sevens squad dominated the field, triumphing in all five of their matches and amassing an impressive 18 points.
Their journey to gold began with a resounding victory over Tunisia, where they secured a commanding 48-0 win. Despite facing a halftime scare against Burkina Faso, they rallied to triumph with a final score of 24-14.
Undeterred, they continued their winning streak by defeating hosts Ghana 22-5 before delivering a crushing blow to Benin with a decisive 56-7 victory.
Burkina Faso clinched the silver medal after accumulating 14 points, while Ghana secured the bronze with 12 points.
Meanwhile, the Lady Rugby Cranes showcased their prowess with an equally flawless performance, claiming victory in all four of their matches and accumulating 12 points along the way.
They commenced their campaign with a dominant display against Tunisia, emerging triumphant with a scoreline of 37-7.
The momentum continued as they outclassed hosts Ghana with a commanding 50-7 win, followed by a hard-fought battle against Nigeria, which culminated in a 33-12 victory.
Their journey culminated in a spectacular 29-0 triumph over Madagascar, solidifying their gold medal position.
In the women’s game, Madagascar took home silver while Tunisia went home with bronze.
