Uganda’s U23 3X3 Basketball team have punched their ticket to the semifinals of the All Africa Games after a hard-fought 20-18 victory over Madagascar.
The tense match saw the Silverbacks demonstrate their resilience and skill, securing their place among the top four contenders in the tournament.
Their next challenge awaits as they gear up to face Algeria in the semifinals. Algeria earned their spot after a commanding 21-14 win against Rwanda, setting the stage for an intense showdown between two formidable teams.
In the other semifinal matchups, Ghana who emerged victorious over Burkina Faso with a narrow 21-19 win, will face Botswana who secured their spot in the semifinals after edging past the Central African Republic with a score of 16-15.
Prior to the playoffs, Uganda showcased their prowess in Group C, finishing as runners-up behind Burkina Faso. Their journey included impressive victories against DR Congo and Togo.
The semifinal clash between Uganda’s Silverbacks and Algeria is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 22, at the University of Ghana.
