Federation of Uganda Football Associations has strengthened its school football development programme after donating six CAF-approved footballs to King’s College Budo as part of its ongoing stakeholder engagement and corporate social responsibility initiative.
The handover was made through the Chairperson of the FUFA Club Licensing Committee, Jeremiah Mugerwa, who delivered the equipment as part of efforts aimed at improving football standards in traditional schools across the country. The donation underscores FUFA’s continued focus on building strong foundations for the game from the grassroots level, particularly within established academic institutions known for nurturing sporting talent.
The equipment was received by Head Teacher Godfrey Kasamba on behalf of King’s College Budo, who welcomed the gesture as a timely boost to the school’s sports programme. The initiative is aligned with FUFA’s broader development strategy, which includes platforms such as the FUFA TV Cup, designed to give young players competitive exposure and a pathway into professional football.
FUFA noted that the TV Cup has already begun producing tangible results, with former King’s College Budo student Lagoro Jimmy progressing to the Uganda Premier League through a move to Express FC. The federation says such outcomes highlight the importance of structured school competitions in identifying and developing future talent for the national game.
