Teenager Kimi Antonelli stunned Monaco by taking pole for Mercedes, edging Max Verstappen by 0.043 seconds in a tense qualifying finish.
His 1:12.051 lap marked Mercedes’ first pole in Monaco since 2019 and the first by an Italian since Jarno Trulli in 2004.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will start on the second row, with Isack Hadjar fifth and George Russell sixth. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri beat teammate Lando Norris for seventh.
Antonelli, chasing a fifth straight win, aims to match Alberto Ascari’s 1952 streak as Mercedes extend their run of six consecutive poles.
