Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari revival hit a snag in Monaco as the seven-time champion qualified third, two-tenths off pole. Max Verstappen took second for Red Bull, while 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli stunned with pole for Mercedes.
Hamilton admitted frustration after Ferrari’s pace dipped from practice: “We barely changed anything, but the car was drastically different. I gave it everything.” Teammate Charles Leclerc clipped the barriers and ended fourth.
Verstappen, relieved after Red Bull’s earlier struggles, praised Antonelli and warned of Ferrari’s quick starts from row two. With Monaco’s history favoring pole but the new hybrid era producing lap-one shakeups, Sunday’s race promises a fierce fight.
