Heathens Rugby Football Club have signed a three-year partnership with Napas Agro Processors Uganda Limited, with Zora Packaged Drinking Water becoming the club’s Official Hydration Partner.
The agreement was formally signed at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds on Thursday, bringing together one of Uganda’s most successful rugby clubs and the locally-owned beverage brand in a deal aimed at supporting both player welfare and community engagement.
Under the partnership, Napas Agro Processors will provide Zora packaged drinking water worth UGX 25 million annually to cover the club’s hydration needs. The support will extend across training sessions, Uganda Rugby Premiership matches, Uganda Cup fixtures, playoff games and Sevens tournaments.
The partnership will also see Zora products stocked and sold at bars within Kyadondo Rugby Grounds, with proceeds benefiting both Heathens RFC and Kyadondo Rugby Club. Officials said the arrangement is designed to ensure every bottle sold contributes to rugby development.
Heathens RFC chairman Desire Derekford Mugumisa described the agreement as more than a traditional sponsorship deal.
“This is more than a sponsorship agreement. Zora is joining a community that values excellence, consistency, and growth.”
Mugumisa said the club was keen to establish partnerships that create long-term value for both parties.
“These are the kinds of partnerships we want to build. Every bottle of Zora sold at Kyadondo contributes directly to the development of rugby and supports a proudly Ugandan brand with enormous potential. We are excited about what we can achieve together over the next three years.”
Napas Agro Processors Uganda Limited Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Annah Namuli Muzaaya said the company’s decision to partner with Heathens was driven by shared values and a commitment to community impact.
“Zora was built on trust, quality, and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve.”
She added that the company wanted to be involved in meaningful moments rather than simply selling products.
“We did not want to be another product on a shelf. We wanted to be part of the moments that matter. Sports has the power to inspire and unite, and we care deeply about its growth in Uganda.”
According to Muzaaya, the partnership also aligns with the company’s broader mission of promoting vitality and positive energy through sport, particularly among young people.
As part of the agreement, Zora branding will have a permanent presence around Kyadondo Rugby Grounds and will feature prominently during home matches. The two organisations also plan to collaborate on fan engagement campaigns through their social media platforms under the hashtag #HeathensXZora.
The partnership adds to Heathens’ growing commercial portfolio as the record Ugandan rugby champions continue to strengthen both their on-field ambitions and off-field operations.
