Kitara Football Club, the newly crowned Uganda Cup winners, presented their trophy to the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among.
The club’s president, Deo Kasozi, and CEO, Joshua Atugonza, led the team to Parliament, where they were received by the Hoima City Woman MP, Hon. Nyakato.
Speaking after the meeting with the Speaker, Kitara President Deo Kasozi said she had pledged support for the club.
“The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, pledged her support to Kitara, promising to back our upcoming continental football endeavors and the construction of the state-of-the-art Royals Park Stadium in Hoima district,” Kasozi stated.
Kitara FC secured their victory in the Uganda Cup by defeating NEC 1-0 in the final held at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. This triumph has earned them the opportunity to represent Uganda in the CAF Confederations Cup.
