Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi is off the market after landing a fresh deal in Cyprus.
Mugabi has joined Anorthosis Famagusta following the expiry of his contract with Motherwell in Scotland.
The conclusion of the transfer is only pending a medical and thereafter an official announcement from the club.
After completing his medical tests, the 29-year-old will sign a two-year contract until the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
He spent five seasons with the Scottish Premiership side managing 109 appearances, netting seven goals.
Before joining Motherwell, English outfit Yeovil Town was the only senior team he had played for previously.
During his youth stages in England, Mugabi played for Fulham and Southampton in the youth programs.
The gigantic center-back made his debut for the Uganda Cranes in 2018 and he has since won 16 caps notably playing at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations as the Cranes reached the Round of 16 in Egypt.
It was reported that he was not involved with the national team in the previous window due to injury but it’s understood that he was excused to sort out his club future.
