Denis Ojara scored a half hat-trick as Onduparaka picked defeated UPDF FC 5-1 at the Green Light Stadium.
This is the Caterpillars’ first victory of the season having failed to win any of their opening 13 games.
Dominic Abonga and Emmanuel Oketch scored the other two goals for Steven Bogere’s sides. Ezekiel Katende netted the Army Side’s only goal.
Katende riffled in the opening goal inside eight minutes as he volleyed home from Douglas Oyirwoth’s corner.
Seven minutes later, Onduparaka levelled matters through Abonga who scored from Gaddifi Gadinho’s corner kick.
Oketch then handed the hosts their first lead on the day as he converted from a penalty after he was fouled by Davis Kakaire.
Just ten minutes into the second half, Ojara scored the first of his three, slotting in from close range.
Five minutes later, Ojara scored his second and a fourth for the hosts from Abonga’s pass.
With 15 minutes left to play, the defender turn striker completed his hat-trick to put the contest to bed.
The result means Onduparaka stay bottom with 7 points while UPDF drops to 13th with 10 points.
