Uganda 81/4. Uganda Wins by Six Wickets

The Uganda women’s nation team, the Victoria Pearls registered a six-wicket victory over Kenya to win the 2022 Kenya Women’s T20 Tournament.

Kenya won the toss and elected to bowl first, a decision that would play in Uganda’s favour in the end.

The Victoria Pearls never allowed Kenya to put together a good partnership with Evelyn Anyipo (3/12) and Captain Consy Aweko (2/11) dried up the runs while picking wickets.

Daisy Njoroge (21) who knows the Ugandan players well because of her experience playing for Pioneer in the local league was the only stand-out batter for Kenya.

In reply, Proscovia Alako (30) blew away any chances of a Kenyan win with some nasty blows her 30 coming off just 13 balls and it included 2 big sixes.

Despite losing 4 wickets Immaculate Nakisuyi (14) and Stephanie Nampiina (14) make the result sure as Uganda won with 51 balls to spare.

Janet Mbabazi continued her good year for the Victoria Pearls as she was named the tournament MVP with 116 runs and 9 wickets.

The triumph ensured a decent end to the year for Victoria Pearls who picked up some valuable T20 ranking points from the tournament.
