Know Your Star: Adrian Kasito a Ugandan Professional Rugby player

Adrian Kasito is a 27 year old Ugandan professional rugby player who plays Fullback position for the Uganda’s Top division rugby club Kobs Rugby
Adrian Plays Fullback as his primary number but he also features in the wing and scrum half.
Adrian like any other sport’s athlete, started is rugby journey in his high school from St. Mary’s College Kisubi back in 2009. He played football at Smack before picking up interest in the game of Rugby.

Before upgrading to the Kobs main team, Adrian Kasito started off his rugby team career with the Boks, which is an academy side for the Senior Kobs around, and by Senior 6 vacation he was called up for the senior team, and by that time he was called up for the national team.

Rugby Aside, the star player is Statistician who studied his bachelors in Statistics at Makerere University and also adds as a Data Scientist.

According to Adrian Kasito, balancing rugby and his office work is a bit tricky, but he manages to do all that is required of him by his employers.

According to Adrian, Damian McKenzie who plays full back for the All blacks and Cristiano Ronaldo are his top role models and they keep him going always.

Regarding the issue of injuries among rugby players in Uganda, the star player stated that, “In the case of the national team, they always try to look out for the injured players until they get well, and the same applies to his Club Kobs.”
Adrian still aspires to play rugby two years from now, but he also hints that you can’t fully depend on rugby in Uganda regarding the situation of the sport.

The Uganda fullback was the player that helped Uganda qualify for the Commonwealth games in Gold coast and 7s World Cup in San Francisco after scoring wining last minute try against Zimbabwe in 2018.
In 2022, Adrian Kasito was named the best player of the season at the Uganda Rugby awards.
Adrian has made about 12 appearances on national duty for the Uganda rugby national team with the last one being in 2022 and he is yet to appear in the incoming sevens in April.
