Uganda’s David Onama Knocks Out Gabriel Santos at UFC Fight Night

David Onama, the “Silent Assassin” of Ugandan Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), secured an impressive victory over Gabriel Santos at UFC Fight Night: Emmett vs Topuria. The bout took place at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL on Saturday

In the second round, Onama (11-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) showcased his striking skills, landing a powerful combination that sent Santos (10-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) to the canvas. The referee stopped the fight at 4 minutes and 13 seconds, declaring Onama the winner by knockout.

This win marked Onama’s successful return to the Octagon after a previous defeat in August 2022. Santos, on the other hand, suffered his second consecutive loss.

Following the match, Onama expressed his satisfaction with his tactical approach, stating, “Just let it happen. Don’t rush things. And tonight it showed.” The victory solidifies his determination to make an impact in the highly competitive featherweight division.

Recently signing a new four-fight deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Onama continues to establish himself as a rising star in MMA. At 29 years old, he impresses fans with his technical prowess and knockout power.

David Onama’s remarkable win further propels him in the UFC, leaving enthusiasts eager to witness his next electrifying performance inside the Octagon.
