Kampala, Uganda – In a spectacular showcase of skill and unwavering determination, Damian Asiimwe, a rising star from the AFRIYEA Golf Academy at Toro Club in Fort Portal, emerged victorious at the illustrious Airtel Club Night event held on Wednesday, 15th August at Uganda Golf Club in Kampala.
Asiimwe, a student at St. Julian High School in Senior three, beguile the 18th crowd with his outstanding performance on the par 72 course, playing off a handicap of 15.
His impressive gross score of 80 translated to a net score of 9 under, securing him the coveted overall win.
Reflecting on this remarkable achievement, Asiimwe attributed his success to his exceptional driving skills and solid short game. However, he remains hungry for greater challenges and aspires to lower his handicap to compete in upcoming prestigious events.
“I am thrilled with my performance today, but I know there is still ample room for improvement. I yearn to test my mettle on grander stages and face stronger competition,” a determined Asiimwe declared.
Adolf Muhumuza, a coach at the AFRIYEA Golf Academy and a member of the Uganda Professional Golfers’ Association (UPGA), commended Damian on his extraordinary victory, emphasizing the immense potential he possesses for future success.
