Uganda Cranes’ head coach, Milutin Sredojevic, has confirmed the final squad for their trip to Morocco for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier against Niger.
Uganda’s chances of qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast are slim due to a previous defeat against Algeria in June , which placed them third in the group with only 4 points, while Tanzania and Algeria have 7 and 15 points, respectively.
To secure a place in the tournament, the Cranes must win by a margin of at least three goals against Niger which is also the last game and hope that Tanzania loses to Algeria, who have already secured their spot.
Coach Sredojevic has named a 23-player squad that will depart for Morocco on Saturday at 4 PM (local time) via Emirates Airlines. He expressed confidence in the selected team, stating, ‘After days of preparation in Kampala, I believe we are well-prepared to compete against Niger. We have two foreign players, Taddeo Lwanga and Abdu Aziizi Kayondo, who have been training with us, while the rest will join us in Marrakech.’
