The new season of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League started today with newcomers Kitara FC defeating SC Villa at Wankulukuku Stadium, the home of the Jagoos.
The Hoima-based side opened the scoring in the first half, with Denis Kaka Omony giving the visitors an early lead in the 15th minute. However, Charles Lwanga equalized for the hosts with a goal in the 43rd minute.
A late winner was secured by Kabon Living of Kitara FC in the 90+4th minute to snatch victory from SC Villa.
Today’s games also featured an opening performance by Ziza Bafana, combining sports and music to entertain everyone.
Other matches on the opening day of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League saw Soltilo Bright Stars FC losing 0-1 to BUL FC, and Mbarara City FC also losing 0-1 to NEC FC.
More action in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League will continue on Sunday, the 17th of September as Arua Hill will host Busoga United at Paridi Stadium, Gadafi FC will host the Venoms at the Gadafi Arena, UPDF will face URA FC at Bambi Military Grounds, and Wakiso Giants will clash with the Maroons at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.”
