Ronald Rugumayo, the talented Ugandan golfer who recently made history as the first professional from Uganda to make the cut in the prestigious DP World Tour, is issuing a rallying call for the support of golf in Uganda.
Rugumayo made this call as he received a heroic welcome at The Entebbe International Airport following his historic performance at the Magical Kenya Open championship held at the par-72 Muthaiga Golf course.
Expressing his emotions upon arrival, Rugumayo stated, “What a week it has been. I am overwhelmed by the reception I received. It has been an incredible experience.”
“I look forward to participating in many more tournaments,” he continued. “This is just the beginning. I aim to demonstrate that I can compete at the highest level.”
Rugumayo emphasized, “The eyes of the world are now on Uganda. We have much to do for the sport.”
Rugumayo is currently ranked Number 2429 on the Official World Golf Ranking after 18 official events played.
