The Namuwongo Blazers secured their sixth win of the season with an 82-53 victory over Livingstone at the Lugogo Indoor Arena on March 3, ensuring they remain at the top of the men’s National Basketball League table standings.

Forward Elly Okello led the charge, scoring 16 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and making 4 steals to ensure the Steven Nyeko-coached side remains on course to finish the first round as table leaders.

This win follows their Friday triumph of 60-54 over holders City Oilers as the Namuwongo-based side continues their quest for the league title.

With new additions Joseph Chuma, Innocent Ochera, and Daniel Gaaki boosting the side’s roster, the focus will be on winning their first-ever league crown this season.

In other games, the UCU Canons picked up back-to-back wins over Our Savior and KCCA Panthers over the weekend to move up to a 4-2 record, while KIU Titans saw off Our Savior 70-61, and JKL Dolphins were 73-61 winners against Ndejje Angels.

In the women’s games, defending champions JKL Lady Dolphins recorded the season’s third 100-point game with a 108-35 thumping of Kampala University, having also defeated record winners UCU Lady Canons 75-68 on Friday, remaining unbeaten as they moved up to 6-0 for the season.

Action returns on Wednesday as Magic Stormers face UCU Lady Canons, while D-Mark Power will be up against JT Jaguars in the other tie, with the match set to air live on NBS Sport.
