Team Uganda’s cycling contingent has landed in Ghana for the highly anticipated All-Africa Games, with pro cyclist Jordan Schleck Ssekanwagi setting his sights on clinching top honours in the upcoming competition.
Led by team captain Charles Kagimu, the four-man squad comprises Lawrence Lorot, Paul Lomuria, and Jordan Ssekanwagi. The team is led by coach Ssaka Bukenya and Sports Administrator Samuel Mahaba Muwonge.
In an exclusive interview with NBS Sport, Ssekanwagi expressed his enthusiasm for representing Uganda on the grand stage of the All-Africa Games. “I am thrilled to be part of the national team for the All-Africa Games 2024,” he stated.
“Our preparation has been rigorous, and we have a formidable lineup of riders poised to exert themselves and bring home medals,” he added.
Ssekanwagi revealed that he honed his skills during the early part of the season by competing in several races in Kenya, laying a solid foundation for his campaign at the prestigious event.
“The races in Kenya served as excellent preparation for this event,” he remarked. “I’ve put in the work, and I’m prepared to deliver commendable performances.”
