“Yet another beautiful day on the greens as I came out top of the Men’s Group A to clinch second runner-up at today’s @imbankug #KatogoGolfSeries2024 at @EntebbeClub1901,” Kariisa posted on X.

The Katogo Golf Series attracted an impressive gathering of over 150 golfers, with Peace Kabasweka, the winner of the Entebbe Ladies Open, excelling in the nearest to the pin among the ladies.

Darius Mugisha’s remarkable drive earned him the Longest Drive title among the men, and Berna Musanabera achieved a comparable feat among the ladies.

The Hole-in-One accolade, a rare and coveted achievement sponsored by Victoria Motors, remained unclaimed.

In the Ladies Group B category, Peace Hellen emerged as the winner, with Dinah Angol Acen and Shalom Kayenje securing the second runner-up and runner-up positions, respectively.

In Ladies Group A, Faith Namara, Melon Kyomugisha, and Sarah Nduhukire claimed the runner-up, winner, and 2nd runner-up spots, respectively.

Among the men, Omar Badreldin secured victory in Men Group C, with Josh James Okema and Darwin Angudri attaining the runner-up and 2nd runner-up positions.

Men Group B witnessed Brian Omeda’s triumph, closely followed by Collins Acellam and Bruce Aijuka in the 1st and 2nd runner-up spots.

The prize structure for those excelling in regulation was hotly contested, featuring a new play format.

Kin Kariisa, Emmanuel Tayebwa, and Paul Habyarimana secured the runner-up, winner, and 2nd runner-up positions in Men Group A. Vincent Katutsi emerged victorious in the Gross Men category.

The overall winners included Peace Kabasweka, securing the top spot among the ladies, and Perez Muhwezi, clinching the men’s overall winner title.

The event’s success solidified its status as a premier golfing spectacle, paving the way for continued excellence in the years ahead.

Robin Bairstow, Chief Executive Officer of I&M Bank Uganda, expressed elation at the turnout and emphasized the bank’s commitment to future engagements.

“The I&M Katogo Golf Series started small but has grown in leaps and bounds. Our commitment to sustaining it over the next few years is our primary aim.”

Other integral partners that contributed to the tournament’s success include GA Insurance, Victoria Motors, Serena Hotels, Timecop Security, and Rwandair.
