Riders from Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda will converge in Greater Masaka Kalisizo on March 24th, 2024, at E-Villas for what is expected to be a thrilling showdown.

Uganda, the reigning champion, aims to maintain its dominance, having secured the title for five consecutive years.

George Ssemakula, the Clerk of the Course, highlighted the significance of this championship, which combines both the East and Central Africa Challenge Championship and the National Motocross Championship 2024.

With rigorous practice sessions leading up to the event and a meticulously prepared track spanning 1.7 kilometers, the stage is set for an adrenaline-fueled competition.

Despite challenges, young champion Miguel Katende will attend the event to inspire and support fellow riders as he continues his treatment, as confirmed by his father, George Ssemakula.

A total of nine categories will be contested, with Raynold Kibira, Deputy Vice President of FMU, expressing delight in hosting the championship and emphasizing FMU’s commitment to expanding the sport across different regions while prioritizing safety.

Adequate measures have been put in place to ensure the protection of riders on the track.

With over 120 riders expected to participate, including MX2 rider Yasin Ssemakula, the competition promises to be fierce, with Ugandan riders poised to defend their championship title against formidable opponents from Kenya and beyond.
