Khassim Murungi will delay to start his boxing action at the ongoing African Games in Ghana. This is after the postponement of the Friday evening session in which he was earlier scheduled. According to the organisers, the changes were forced by the general Internet breakdown and the issues with the venue due to storms the previous night.

“The boxing match  will start at 7:00 PM today (Friday). It will be Session 1 as per the schedule. Session 2 will take place tomorrow. The boxers who weighed-in today need not weigh-in tomorrow,” read the statement that also confirmed that the initial Saturday scheduled would also be updated.

Muzamir Semuddu is captain the Bombers team that also includes Owen Kibira, Shalua Ndagire, Eric Namutebi, debutants Innocent Amoko and Innocent Tumusiime. A total of 212 boxers, 148 males and 64 females, were registered from 33 countries.

Uganda had silver and two bronze boxing medals of the total 10 won from the last edition in 2019.
