Debutant Innocent Tumusiime secured Uganda’s first boxing medal at the ongoing African Games in Ghana. The light flyweight boxer stopped Lesotho’s Kolobe in the opening round inside a lively Bukom boxing arena to confirm Uganda’s 9th medal at the 13th Edition.
The youngster will return to the ring on Wednesday for the semi-final action as he takes on Tukembekwa Zola from Congo.In the same way, another debutant Innocent Amoko stopped Bouzine Jovanie Darius Antoine from Seychelles in the opening round of the three. The UPDF boxing club hard puncher takes on Gebremariam Abrahm Alem of Ethiopia at the quarter finals.
Uganda has two boxers in action this Monday with Captain Muzamir Semuddu taking on Ghana’s Henry Malmy while Kasim Murungi faces another homeboy Abdul Wahid who got a bye at the round of 16
