Uganda Athletics Federation Unveils Squad for EAAR U18/U20 Athletics Championships

The Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) has announced its roster for the upcoming EAAR U18/U20 Athletics Championships, slated to take place in Zanzibar from the 26th to the 27th of April 2024.

The selected athletes will represent Uganda across various disciplines in the under-18 and under-20 categories.

In the under-18 category, the following athletes have been named:

1. Yeko Bentalin (F) – 3000m
2. Osutaa Dison (M) – 400m
3. Chebet Keziah (F) – 3000m

For the under-20 category, the selected athletes are as follows:

4. Anamu Vicky (F) – 400m/200m
5. Chekwemoi Felistar (F) – 1500m
6. Chekwemoi Vicky (F) – 3000m
7. Adilu Francis (M) – 400m
8. O’Mara Raymond (M) – 800m
9. Kiprop Hosea (M) – 1500m
10. Yeko Sam (M) – 5000m

Additionally, the coaching staff accompanying the team consists of:

11. Bayiga Justin
12. Kosgei Philemon Issa

Originally, UAF had intended to host the championships; however, due to delays in the completion of the Namboole National Track, this was not feasible. Consequently, the team is set to depart on Wednesday, the 24th of April 2024, to represent Uganda on the regional stage.
