The 2024 Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa rally is set for 10-12 May in Jinja with over 30 rally crews set to take part.
The national rally championship event that doubles as the first round of the Africa rally championship will cover ten stages of a total 209.45 kilometers.
Notable entries include former national rally champions Ronald Sebuguzi, Ponsiano Lwakataka and Jas Mangat with defending African rally champion Karen Patel also set to take part.
Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) president Jimmy Akena reflected on the event saying, “We are going to do everything in our capacity to ensure that this event is the biggest of the year and let’s all do our best to enjoy it.”
The Pearl of Africa rally has been held since 1997 in celebration of the touristic nature of Uganda.
