KCB Bank Injects Shs80m into Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally

Jinja is gearing up for a high-speed action weekend  as the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally takes center stage from May 10-12. KCB Bank, a long-time supporter of the event, has announced a significant Shs80m cash sponsorship package to fuel the excitement.

This year’s edition promises to be a spectacle like no other, with over 30 registered crews, including two foreign teams, vying for glory. Reigning Africa Rally Champion Karan Patel and Junior Africa Rally Champion Hamza Anwar from Kenya will join local drivers, including current National Rally Championship leader Jonas Kansiime, in the battle for supremacy.

According to Diana Komukama Ssempebwa, Head of Marketing at KCB Bank, “We are thrilled to be part of the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally once again. Our commitment to the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) is strong, and we’re excited to see the event grow from strength to strength.”

The rally will cover a total competitive distance of 209.45 kilometers, with seven stages on Saturday and three final stages on Sunday. Safety remains a top priority, with newly-elected FMU president Jimmy Akena promising a “wonderful event” for drivers and fans alike.
