NBL: Ndejje Angels Seek Upset, Lady Dolphins Aim to Extend Lead

Gameweek 17 of the 2024 National Basketball League season kicks off on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, featuring critical matchups in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

In the men’s division, the KIU Titans will take on the Ndejje Angels. The Titans have been in excellent form, winning all their last five games, and are currently fourth in the league standings with 27 points, just two behind the leaders, Namblazers.

Coach Julius Lutwama, reflecting on their recent win against Dmark Power, expressed optimism about their continued success.

“The more you play without losing, the better you become. We want to keep the momentum,” he stated.

However, Stanley Mugerwa highlighted areas needing improvement, particularly in defense and fouling.

“We can do better when it comes to defending and also fouling. This is something we need to analyse and correct,” Mugerwa remarked.

On the other hand, the Ndejje Angels are struggling at the bottom of the league with 20 points, having lost all their previous five games. They will be seeking to end their losing streak and achieve an upset against the high-flying Titans.

In the women’s division, the JKL Lady Dolphins are keen to extend their winning streak as they face the Miracle Ravens. The Dolphins have won their last five games and sit atop the standings.

The Miracle Ravens have had a tougher time, with only one win in their last five games, placing them sixth on the table with 25 points, six points behind the league-leading Dolphins.

The games will be played at the MTN Indoor Arena in Lugogo with the women’s game starting at 7 PM while the men’s game starts at 9 PM all live on Afromobile.
