The International Cricket Council has released updated world rankings ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Uganda is ranked 22nd and is set to compete in Group C alongside Afghanistan, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and West Indies.
Comparatively, Uganda faces tough competition within its group, particularly from Afghanistan and West Indies, both boasting higher ICC rankings.
Afghanistan, positioned 10th in the ICC rankings, and West Indies, ranked 4th, present significant challenges for Uganda on their journey through the tournament.
Additionally, New Zealand, ranked 5th, and Papua New Guinea, placed 20th, further add to the competitive landscape within Group C.
Despite being categorized among lower-ranked teams, Uganda aims to make its mark in the tournament, leveraging its cricketing talent and determination to compete at the highest level.
Meanwhile, the top-ranked teams in the ICC rankings emerge as the favorites to clinch the T20 World Cup title.
India, Australia, and England, occupying the top three positions respectively, are touted as strong contenders for the championship.

Uganda will kickstart their T20 World Cup campaign against Afghanistan on Tuesday 4th June before facing Papua New Guinea on Thursday 6th June, West Indies on Sunday 9th June and New Zealand on 15th June.
