StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa have secured the services of experienced Serbian coach Momcilo Medic as their new assistant manager.
Medic, who boasts a wealth of experience from over two decades of coaching across Africa and beyond, will be tasked with supporting his fellow Serbian compatriot, head coach Dusan Stojanovic, as the club aims to defend their title, and leave a mark on the continental stage.
Medic joins the Jogoos with a wealth of experience, having been assistant coach of South African Premier Division side Orlando Pirates between 2004 and 2006.
In 2013, he, together with Vipers’ new head coach was one of the candidates shortlisted for the Uganda Cranes job after the departure of Scottish coach Robert Williamson, before fellow Serbian Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho took over for his first stint.
Beyond his work with the national teams, Medic has enjoyed a diverse and successful career as a head coach, taking charge of clubs in Ghana, Burundi, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and even at home in Serbia.
Medic is one of the 25 coaches who began their six-month CAF A Diploma coaching course on June 11th, at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
