“The Gymnasiade is one of the biggest tournaments organized by the ISF, and we are thrilled that our Ugandan schools will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on this international stage,” said Mugisha.

He revealed that some of the schools that have already registered for the Gymnasiade include Kibuli Secondary School, Nabisunsa Girls School, Rubaga Girls, Mbogo College School, and Mbogo High School, among others.

“We gave a chance to the schools that qualified to participate in these games, and I’d like to inform you that so far Kibuli Secondary School have already registered three teams in table tennis, tennis and badminton.” He said

“Nabisunsa Girls School has already registered one team which will participate in basketball 3×3 girls. Rubaga Girls has also registered a team for badminton girls, Mbogo College School for table tennis and Mbogo High School for badminton,” he added.

Mugisha, who is also the President of FEASSA, and Vice President of FUFA, emphasized that the registration process is still ongoing, and encouraged more schools to sign up and take advantage of this exciting opportunity.

Mugisha also stated that as an association, they’ll cover most of the costs, with the assistance of the government together with the schools, as it is the condition for schools that want to participate The condition for participating is cost-sharing.

“We are committed to supporting our schools by covering the costs of uniforms, feeding, accommodation, and student allowances,” Mugisha said. “The only thing the schools need to provide are the tickets to Bahrain, which are not too expensive.”

The upcoming ISF Gymnasiade Summer Games will be a fantastic opportunity for our young Ugandan talents to showcase their skills and gain valuable international experience.

In addition to the Gymnasiade, the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association revealed that Ugandan schools are also set to participate in other upcoming competitions, including the ongoing USSSA Ball Games 2 Qualifiers, the Swimming Gala at Seroma Christian High School and the USSSA Ball Games 2 Championships at Teso College Aloet.
