Kenyan international Brian Onyango is among the players who have departed from Mamelodi Sundowns, with his contract expiring on Sunday, the end of June.
The centre-back joined the club in the summer of 2020 on a four-year deal from Premier Soccer League rivals Maritzburg United. His signing was met with criticism, as Onyango had not played for over a year due to an injury at his former club.
Despite the initial doubts, Onyango enjoyed four trophy-laden seasons with Sundowns, securing four DStv Premiership titles under coach Rulani Mokwena. He made a total of 61 appearances for Sundowns in both domestic and continental competitions.
Onyango is not the only player to part ways with Masandawana; Bongani Zungu, Gaston Sirino, and Thabiso Kutumela have also left the club.
