Kitara Football Club has officially announced the signing of center-back Ronald Otti, in a deal unveiled by club president Deo Kasozi on Monday morning in Kampala.
Otti joins the Hoima-based side on a one-year contract, committing to the club until June 2025.
The sought-after defender, who attracted interest from several clubs, expressed his excitement and commitment upon signing with Kitara.
“I believe this is the right choice and place for me to be. Kitara is an exciting club. I hope my experience can add something or improve my new team. And, I want to pledge my hard work and commitment to them,” Otti stated.
Voted the best defender in the recently concluded Uganda Premier League Awards, Otti brings significant strength to Kitara’s defense.
Known for his commanding presence, game reading ability, aerial prowess, and physicality, he is expected to bolster the team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Otti is the first addition to the squad under head coach Brian Ssenyondo. He will compete for a spot in the center of defense alongside Benjamin Nyakoojo, Maxwell Owachigiu, Arthur Kiggundu, and David Kasaija.
Kitara will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederations Cup starting in August 2024. The addition of Otti is seen as a crucial move to enhance the team’s depth and strength ahead of the competition.
