St. Lawrence University won their sixth beach soccer title after defeating Kampala City 4-3 in the final at the FUFA Technical Centre beach soccer arena in Njeru on Sunday.
Baker Lukooya’s quickfire brace and goals from Brian Nkuubi and Joshua Letti Lubwama helped St. Lawrence secure a convincing win and their fifth consecutive crown, Lukooya’s early double striking a significant blow to Kampala City’s title hopes.
Kampala City’s attempts at a comeback were ultimately unsuccessful, despite a brace from Paul Lule and a goal from Ambrose Kigozi, as St. Lawrence held on to win the match 4-3, with Lubwama’s goal proving to be the decisive factor, relegating Kampala City to silver medal finish.
