The KIU Titans’ 2024 National Basketball League regular season will come to a close on Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. when they face off against the Kampala Rockets at YMCA Court in Wandegeya.
The Titans, who currently hold a strong position, aim to secure second place in the league despite recent setbacks.
Julius Lutwama’s team is eager to return to winning form after losing their last two matches against City Oilers and JKL Dolphins.
The Titans have struggled in the past two weeks but remain optimistic about turning their fortunes around starting with Saturday’s game.
The team will be without Ahmed Kassa, who was recently discharged from the hospital following an injury sustained in an accident last week.
Kassa is expected to be out of action for at least three months. Point guard Joel Lukoji Banza and forward Peter Obleng are also sidelined with injuries but are anticipated to return before the playoffs begin.
However, the Titans will see the return of key players Juf Mpiya, Edgar Munaba, and Pierre Kasereka Tembo to the starting lineup. Their presence is expected to bolster the team’s performance as they look to end the regular season on a high note.
The match against the Kampala Rockets will be crucial for the Titans as they aim to regain their momentum and solidify their standing in the league ahead of the playoffs.
