The Uganda Women’s National Basketball team, the Gazelles, are set to embark on a historic high-performance training camp in Frankfurt, Germany, from July 15th to 25th, 2024.
This milestone comes on the invitation of FC Nottingen, a renowned sports club founded in 1957 that operates the Rutronik Stars Keltern basketball franchise, competing in the Women’s Basketball Bundesliga, Germany’s premier club league.
The training camp, organized by the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations and fully financed by BetPawa, the Gazelles’ main sponsor, is designed to prepare the team for the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Qualifiers scheduled for February 2025.
During their stay, the Gazelles will engage in rigorous practice sessions and participate in three scrimmage games to hone their skills and teamwork.
The scrimmage schedule includes matches against MTV Stuttgart on July 19th and two games against the Republic of Ireland on July 21st and 22nd.
The announcement of the travelling squad is expected soon.
