The game also marked the return of Fildauce Namulema to the starting lineup. Namulema contributed 10 points, two rebounds, and three assists, showcasing her importance to the team’s dynamics.
Rangers’ coach Julius Lutwama expressed his excitement over the team’s strong start.
“It’s quite exciting to begin the playoffs with such momentum. It was a great game for us, especially considering that we won against a team like Miracle Ravens by a margin of over 30 points,” he said.
Looking ahead to Game 2, he emphasized the need for composure and focus.
Captain Kanyamuneza attributed the victory to the team’s cohesion and purpose.
“I think what saw us win with such a margin was playing as a team and also playing with a reason. The reason is to ease our path to the next level,” she remarked.
The Rangers will aim to secure their place in the semifinals with a win in Game 2, scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
