The highly anticipated Ekibiitu Mawuno boxing event is set to take place on August 10, 2024, at Club Obligato, following its launch on July 25 at the same venue.
The event promises an action-packed evening featuring one main fight, two national title fights, and 17 undercard fights.
The main event will see Uganda’s Med Kabona Sebyala face off against Malawi’s Charles Misanjo in a 10-round bout for the GBF International Middleweight Title.
Sebyala, expressing his readiness in an interview with NBS Sport, urged Ugandans to come out in large numbers to support him.
“Each time I enter the ring to fight, it adds value to me, especially when I win. I am well prepared because this fight aligns with my earlier preparations for another bout,” said Med Kabona.
In addition to the main event, the National Super Light Title Defense will feature Amid Daku from Uganda against Bob Turyagyenda.
The National Featherweight 10-round match will see Sseruyange Conard compete for national glory.
Kasujja Henry, another prominent Ugandan boxer, will compete in the undercard against Tshama David from the Democratic Republic of Congo, adding to the excitement of the event.
Katongole Simon, the second vice president of the technical committee, announced that the event has been sanctioned by the Uganda Professional Boxing Commission after meeting all necessary requirements.
Ekibiitu Mawuno will start at 7:00 PM at Club Obligato on August 10, 2024.
