Legendary Ziggy Dee Spices Up Boxing Champions League Night

It was the usual night of the Uganda Boxing Federation Champions League on Saturday 3rd, August 2024, with the attendance of the legendary artiste Ziggy Dee.

The “Mic ya Ziggy Dee” hitmaker was the accompanying artiste on the ring walk of branded boxer Broline Kimbugwe during week six of the 2024 edition.

Despite enjoying the filled-up Club Obligato, Ziggy Dee’s maiden appearance was not the best as novice Ashraf Mutaasa handed his Broline a disappointing second straight defeat in this year’s competition.

“I have come through to support the ghetto youths. I implore Ugandans to support these talents” noted Ziggy Dee, who promised his fans a new hit soon.

Meanwhile, the main fight between Derrick Mubiru and Kassim Murungi was not as colourful as expected.

Despite struggling to hit his best, national team star Murungi bagged a unanimous point win over the experienced Mubiru who was having his first bout of the year.

UPDF’s Mukuye Harold bagged his maiden win of the competition with a split decision win over Gulu’s Ronald Okello after a fight review.

In other fights, Kato Kazibwe of Kololo Boxing Club beat UPDF’s Ochan Geoffrey in the Elite 48Kgs, and Kiwatule Boxing Club’s Ebongo Emmy continued with his dominance beating Zikama Sabbath in the heavyweight contest.

Ayike Arafah from Arua BC won her bout 5:0 unanimous against Laker Sarah of Gulu BC in the women’s Elite 60Kgs. A total of 16 bouts were on the card with action broadcast live on NBS SPORT.
