Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the Tusker Lite Mount Rwenzori Marathon, stepping up as the official hydration partner for the event’s third edition.
Scheduled for August 24th in the Kasese district, this marathon is celebrated for its scenic route and rich cultural experience, drawing participants from all over the world.
As the runners prepare to take on distances of 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km, CCBU, a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), will be ensuring that hydration needs are fully met throughout the race.
Rwenzori Pure Natural Mineral Water, alongside other Coca-Cola products, will be available at 12 strategically located hydration stations along the marathon route, positioned approximately every 3 kilometres.
Given the high temperatures expected in Kasese, staying hydrated is crucial for the safety and performance of the athletes. The hydration points, equipped with tents and staffed by personnel, will not only provide water but also offer Coca-Cola products, including those with sugar content, essential for maintaining energy levels during the race.
Amos Wekesa, Team Lead at the Tusker Lite Mount Rwenzori Marathon, praised CCBU for its ongoing support, emphasizing the vital role hydration plays in the marathon.
“Having Rwenzori Natural Mineral Water and Coca-Cola products available throughout the route aligns perfectly with our focus on the health and well-being of our runners,” Wekesa stated.
“Given the heat and the challenging terrain, these hydration points will play a vital role in keeping our runners safe, energized, and ready to conquer the race.”
