Ugandan athlete Loice Chekwemoi secured a silver medal in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the World Athletics U20 Championships Lima 24.

The race was a thrilling spectacle, with Ethiopia’s Sembo Almayew ultimately claiming the gold medal in a championship record time of 9:12.71.
Chekwemoi finished a close second, clocking a time of 9:18.84. Her strong finish earned her a well-deserved silver medal and solidified her position as one of the world’s leading young steeplechasers.
