The Castle Lite National Basketball League entered game three of the best of seven series final playoffs in both the men and women’s divisions at Lugogo on Sunday.
City Oilers and JKL Dolphins managed to defeat KIU Titans and UCU Lady Canons 72-70 and 72-54 in men’s and women’s divisions, respectively.
Victory for Oilers meant that they stretched the series to 3-0 and they are a win away from a sweep which will land them their record 10th consecutive men’s championship.
On the other hand, after trailing 2-0, the women’s defending champions Dolphins pulled one back to bring themselves back into the equation.
They had looked a side without cohesion in the first two games and one would argue that they were not ready to defend their crown but they picked up an instrumental win to regain momentum.
The women’s series final now stands at 2-1 in favour of Lady Canons and the champion can’t be determined at least until game five on Friday.
Meanwhile, the men’s series will be settled on Wednesday should Oilers defeat Titans to make 4-0.
