Basketball Brilliance: Ntare and Mbarara Hoopers Win Big at 3×3 Series

The Ntare School Team Pick Up (Men) and the Mbarara University Hoopers (Ladies) showcased their basketball prowess by winning the second circuit of the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series, held on Saturday, October 26, at the MUST Court in Mbarara.

In an exhilarating men’s semi-final, the Ntare School Team Pick Up narrowly edged out the Mbarara University Thunderbolts, winning 16-15 to secure a place in the final against Global Giants.

Displaying remarkable skill and determination, the Ntare squad clinched the championship with a close 12-10 victory.

In the Ladies’ category, the Mbarara University Hoopers delivered a stellar performance, defeating the Kigezi Tigers 3-2 in a tightly contested match, solidifying their status as a formidable team in the tournament.

A total of 24 men’s teams and 6 women’s teams participated in this Mbarara circuit, highlighting the growing popularity of 3×3 basketball in the region.

Both the Ntare School Team Pick Up and the Mbarara University Hoopers have now qualified for the finals, which will take place on December 7.

The Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series continues next weekend, heading east for the Jinja Circuit on November 2, to be held at the Jinja SS Courts.

Two Circuits have been held in Kampala 1 and Mbarara, five more to come in Jinja, Gulu, Kampala 2, Mbale, and Mukono.

Each circuit awards UGX 400,000 for the winners and UGX 200,000 for the runners-up in both men’s and women’s categories.

The Finals will offer a grand prize of UGX 2,000,000 for the winners and UGX 1,000,000 for the runners-up.

With the competition heating up, all eyes will be on the upcoming circuits as teams vie for glory and a chance to be crowned champions of the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series.
