Okello Brace Powers Vipers to League Summit

Uganda Cranes and Vipers playmaker Allan Okello, UPL’s leading scorer Seiri Arigumaho, and Kawempe Muslim Ladies goalkeeper Josephine Nambuya have each earned nominations for the Real Stars Footballer of the Month Award for October.

These standout players bring exceptional form from club and international stages, promising a closely contested award.

Allan Okello Shines for Club and Country

Allan Okello’s October has been stellar, with the midfielder delivering critical assists and goals.

In Uganda’s 2025 AFCON qualifiers against South Sudan, Okello’s contributions were key, providing an assist in Uganda’s 1-0 win at home and another in their 2-1 away victory.

Back in the Uganda Premier League (UPL), Okello’s momentum continued.

He scored in Vipers’ 2-0 win against Wakiso Giants and then netted a brace to secure a 2-1 win over Police FC, tallying three goals in just two games for Vipers this month.

Seiri Arigumaho Leads the UPL Scoring

Arigumaho, Mbarara City’s attacking powerhouse, currently tops the UPL scoring charts with five goals in six games, three of which were scored in October.

His standout performances include a decisive brace against BUL and the only goal in Mbarara’s win over Bright Stars, highlighting his influence on the league’s scoring.

Josephine Nambuya Secures Perfect Start for Kawempe

In the Finance Trust Bank Women Super League (FTWSL), Josephine Nambuya’s goalkeeping has been instrumental for Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, who lead the league with an impressive four consecutive wins—all clean sheets.

Her commanding performances between the posts have underpinned Kawempe’s dominant early-season form.

The October Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards also recognize talent in other disciplines.

Badminton nominees include Augustus Owiny, Fadilah Shamikah, and Tracy Naluwooza, while rally competitors Jas Mangat, Ronald Ssebuguzi, and Mike Mukula are up for the motorsport award.
