While Uganda made a strong start to their ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League B campaign with a convincing 7-wicket victory over Singapore, head coach Abhay Sharma has identified areas for improvement.
Despite the dominant performance, Sharma believes that the team’s performance can be even more effective.
“The bowlers did a fantastic job today, but there’s always room for improvement,” he said. “We need to maintain our discipline and execute our plans consistently.”
The coach also acknowledged that the batting performance, though sufficient for a comfortable victory, could be more consistent.
“The batting unit has shown significant improvement in recent months, but we still have work to do,” he explained.
Speaking on the tournament in general, Sharma emphasized the importance of a game-by-game approach.
“We’re not looking too far ahead. We’re taking each game, and even each innings, as it comes,” he said. “This approach helps us stay focused and avoid complacency.”
With a strong start to the tournament, Uganda will be aiming to maintain their momentum and challenge for the top spot in the group.
The team’s next match is against Tanzania on November 9th.
