NBS Sport to Air Elgon Cup Return Leg as Uganda Seeks to Overturn Two-Point Deficit

The stage is set for an entertaining Elgon Cup showdown as the Rugby Cranes welcome the Kenya Simbas to Kings Park Arena, Bweyogerere, today Saturday, November 16.

Is Michael Wokorach the GOAT of Ugandan Rugby?

For Uganda, this is not just about overturning the narrow margin but reclaiming regional supremacy on home turf.

Head Coach Fred Mudoola has made four changes to his squad, forced by injuries and tactical shifts.

Captain Byron Oketayot is unavailable due to a concussion sustained in the first leg, with vice-captain Timothy Kisiga stepping in to lead the team alongside Conrad Wanyama.

New inclusions Micheal Otto, Emmanuel Kiyaga, Ian Munyani, and Kisiga himself will inject fresh energy and experience as Uganda seeks to dominate in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

The Cranes will also look to capitalize on their home advantage, with Kings Park Arena known for its electric atmosphere and passionate fans.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Simbas arrive in Kampala riding high on confidence after their narrow victory in Nairobi.

Head Coach Jerome Paarwater has kept the core of his team intact, with George Nyambua leading the Simbas into what could be a historic win for the visitors.

Kenya’s clinical performance in the first leg, particularly in the scrums and kicking game, proved decisive, and they will be looking to replicate that form.

Both teams have emphasized physicality and precision in their preparation, with Uganda needing to sharpen their defensive structures and avoid the costly penalties that plagued them in the first leg.

For Kenya, managing Uganda’s attacking surges and maintaining discipline will be key to holding onto their advantage.

As the clock ticks down to kickoff, anticipation is building for what promises to be a battle of grit, skill, and determination.

Match Details:
Date: Saturday, November 16
Venue: Kings Park Arena, Bweyogerere
Kickoff Time: 4:00 PM (EAT)

The Elgon Cup decider is a must-watch and will be broadcast live on NBS Sport.
