Premier East African sports broadcaster NBS Sport has solidified its commitment to promoting regional sports with the comprehensive coverage of the Elgon Cup, delivering real-time updates and insights that captivated rugby fans across the region.

The station’s efforts highlighted the intensity and passion of East Africa’s rugby rivalry, further cementing its position as the go-to platform for sports enthusiasts.

Speaking on the success of the coverage, NBS Sport Brand Manager, Victor Akatwijuka expressed gratitude to viewers and reaffirmed the channel’s dedication to showcasing Ugandan sports.

“Our coverage of the Elgon Cup has been a testament to our unwavering support for local and sports. We are proud to have brought this exciting rivalry to rugby fans and are thrilled by the incredible response from our audience,” Victor said.

Victor also revealed plans to expand rugby programming on NBS Sport, including making The Scrum a weekly show.

“As champions of Ugandan sport, we are taking our rugby coverage to the next level. Fans can now look forward to The Scrum airing every week, featuring in-depth analysis, exclusive interviews, and all the action from the local and international rugby scenes,” he added.

Kenya defended her title in the Elgon Cup after a 21-5 trashing of the Rugby Cranes at the Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere.

The match was broadcast live on NBS Sport with commentary from renowned sports commentators, Jermaine Egesa and John Vianney Nsimbe.
