Rox Berry pool club stormed back to the top of the Men’s Pool League table with a commanding 16-4 victory over bottom-placed Nakawa Pool Rangers on Match Day 13.
The emphatic win, which included a crucial bonus point, sent a strong message to their title rivals Scrap Buyers, whose title hopes took a hit as Greater Mukono held them to a dramatic 10-10 draw.
Despite their star-studded lineup, ScrapBuyers struggled to maintain their recent winning form, leaving the race for the top spot wide open.
Meanwhile, Upper Volta secured an important 13-7 win on their visit to Mbale. Their strategic decision to arrive to the Eastern district a day early paid off, earning them three valuable points.
The victory keeps Upper Volta in third place, maintaining pressure on the top two teams; Rox Berry and Scrap Buyers.
Club 408 also made a statement, defeating fifth-placed Adi’s Spot 14-6 in a tightly contested encounter.
Adi’s Spot star player, Omara Moses, managed to secure two frames with impressive break-and-finish shots, but it wasn’t enough to rescue a bonus loss point for his side.
The highlight came in the final frame, where Club 408’s Lutaaya Timothy, popularly known as Boika, sealed the match against Moses.
In other matches, Sinkers overcame E-Play Billiards 13-7, Tororo Tigers roared past Corporate Shooters with the same scoreline, and Capital Night outclassed Pot It 13-7.
Wakiso City and Kireka PC also played out 10-10 stalemates, showcasing the growing competitiveness in the league.
