All eyes will be on the Lugogo Cricket Oval on Sunday, December 1, 2024, as Uganda prepares to host the 6th annual SDG Run.
This year’s event, themed “Partnership for the Goals” (SDG17), aims to galvanize support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and foster a collective effort towards a more sustainable future.
The event will be graced by the presence of His Excellency Gen. Yoweri K. Museveni, President of Uganda, as the Guest of Honour.
This high-level endorsement underscores the nation’s commitment to the SDG agenda and its recognition of the crucial role played by such initiatives.
Participants are invited to gather at Lugogo Cricket Oval at 7:00 a.m., with registration kits available for 20,000 UGX.
Each step taken during the run will contribute to raising awareness about pressing global issues such as poverty eradication, climate action, quality education, and sustainable partnerships.
The SDG Run is a collaborative effort, supported by a diverse range of partners including the Wildlife Conservation Society, SOS Children’s Villages, Grant Thornton, Explore Uganda, and others.
This collective partnership reflects the growing momentum behind the SDG movement and the need for concerted action.
The event also marks a significant milestone for NBS as part of its 15 Million Trees Go Green campaign.
By participating in the SDG Run, NBS reaffirms its commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement, demonstrating its leadership role in promoting sustainable practices.
