MTN Uganda capped off a year of successful golfing partnerships with the Grand Tee of Tees 2024 tournament held at the Entebbe Club. The event, which brought together over 250 golfers, served as a celebration of golfing excellence and community spirit.
The day began with a competitive tournament featuring a diverse range of participants. The highlight of the event, however, was the official opening of the MTN Pod, a beautifully designed halfway house constructed by MTN Uganda for the club’s members.
MTN Uganda CEO Sylvia Mulinge officially unveiled the MTN Pod during the ceremony, highlighting its significance.
“This facility not only enhances the playing experience but also serves as a symbol of what we can achieve when we work together,” she remarked.
Entebbe Club Captain Serwano Walusimbi expressed his gratitude, calling the MTN Pod “a gift of beauty” and a testament to the enduring partnership between MTN and the golfing community.
The Grand Tee of Tees also recognized exceptional golfing talent. Saidi Kirarira and Jovia Tugume were crowned champions of the Men’s and Ladies’ Order of Merit (OOM) categories respectively, receiving trophies and sponsor prizes for their outstanding performances throughout the year.
MTN Uganda’s Commitment to Community Growth
The event showcased MTN Uganda’s commitment to fostering community growth through strategic partnerships.
MTN’s support extends beyond the construction of the MTN Pod, encompassing sponsorships of the MTN Monthly Tee and the renovation of the clubhouse.
“MTN’s support is a tribute to the game of golf and to the people that have directly or indirectly supported the MTN brand over so many years,” concluded Ms. Mulinge.
The Grand Tee of Tees finale was further enriched by the support of esteemed partners including MTN MoMo, CFAO Mobility, Castle Lite, and Willis Towers Watson (WTW), ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
